Practical recommendations before starting...

Here are some basic recommendations for this workshop:

  • Prepare recipes in a well-ventilated area with open windows: Ensure good ventilation in the area where products will be made to prevent the buildup of vapors and gases.

  • Use personal protective equipment: Before starting, make sure students wear aprons, protective goggles, gloves, and masks if needed, especially when handling ingredients that may cause skin or eye irritation or can be harmful to inhale.

  • Rinse thoroughly with water if discomfort occurs: If any student experiences discomfort, such as skin or eye irritation, it’s essential to rinse the affected area with plenty of water and seek medical attention if necessary.

  • Label all products clearly: It’s essential to label each product made during the workshop to avoid confusion and ensure proper identification and safe usage later on.

  • Store products properly: Instruct students on the importance of storing products in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to maintain their effectiveness and extend their shelf life. Remind them that the products are not for ingestion under any circumstances.

  • Read instructions and warnings carefully: Before starting product preparation, students should read the usage instructions and hazard warnings for all ingredients thoroughly and follow them closely.

  • Keep out of reach of young children and pets: Once the products are ready, ensure they are kept out of reach of young children and pets to prevent accidental ingestion or mishaps.

  • Don’t make large quantities of products containing water: Remind students that water-based products have a limited shelf life, so it’s best to make only the amount needed for immediate or short-term use.
